30 SECEC-ESSSE CONGRESS - Dublin, Ireland - September 7-9, 2022

Lunch Workshops - Thursday September 8th

Time: 12:50h – 14:20h
Room: Liffey Hall 2
Title: Revision Shoulder Arthroplasty - Preoperative Planning to Surgical Execution
Details:
This dedicated symposium will tackle the challenges of Revision Shoulder Arthroplasty, especially revision RSA. Revision shoulder arthroplasty is a rapidly growing domain and each revision has its intricate challenges.
This symposium focusses on evaluating revisions from preoperative planning using REFLECT Complex to surgical execution. Intricacies of managing large glenoid bone defects, humeral bone deficiencies, instability with arthroplasty, and managing infections will be discussed.
Come and join our experienced global faculty sharing their large revision experience. Talk to the biomedical engineers, who have developed the platform and are working with complex cases on a daily basis.

Room: Liffey Hall 1
Title: The Athlete’s Shoulder Instability
Details:
A comprehensive overview from SLAP, Biceps…over to new techniques.

Understanding the dynamics of shoulder instability in each patient is not easy but almost as key as finding the right surgical treatment if necessary. And when it comes to treat elite athletes, the pressure may be higher.
In this CONMED Lunch Workshop Session our Faculties, Dr. Clara Azevedo and Prof. Giuseppe Porcellini, lead by Prof. Alex Castagna will help all put some light at the dark, release some of this pressure and make us enjoy about many options to treat Shoulder Instability.

Title: The Future Meets the Present: How Smart Solutions Can Improve Shoulder Surgery
Details:
Do you ever wish you could predict the future? During this workshop our distinguished surgeon panel will share their experiences with the latest Exactech technologies to improve patient outcomes and to make their practices more efficient in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Topics discussed:
• navigated stemless surgery
• unique treatment options for difficult cases with proximal humeral bone loss
• data-driven technologies like preoperative planning, navigation and machine learning

Title: Shoulder replacement in the younger patient
Details:
“Shoulder replacement in the younger patient is an increasingly common scenario. Challenges include heightened patient expectation, durability of prosthesis and revision options. There have been significant improvements in terms of understanding of pathoanatomy, three-dimensional imaging and pre-operative planning. Prosthetic design in this patient group has evolved with advances in bone preservation, better soft tissue management and more durable bearing surfaces. In this workshop we explore arthroplasty options in the challenging group of patients.” [Hannan Mullett]
