30 SECEC-ESSSE CONGRESS - Dublin, Ireland - September 7-9, 2022

Welcome Address - President of SECEC

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

As you all know, the 30th annual SECEC congress will take place in Dublin, on the 7th to 9th of September 2022. After some difficult years, the world, and us with it, is recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic. After the deadline coming to an end, we can say that we have received a number of abstracts comparable to pre-pandemic years.

The SECEC Executive Committee has designed an extraordinarily attractive program of symposia regarding preoperative planning in shoulder arthroplasty and muscular transfers.

In addition to this, we will have the opportunity to attend interesting instructional courses designed by the Education Committee, which will focus on controversial topics in shoulder and elbow surgery. We will also hold a technology session, where the most innovative technology in our field will be discussed, followed by a session organized by the Junior Committee; and our joint session with EUSSER. Furthermore, this year we have introduced a session titled “My worst case”, where we will exchange experiences regarding difficult cases. Lastly, we can count on a scientific session by the British Elbow and Shoulder Society.

The high scientific level in shoulder and elbow pathology that characterizes SECEC is thus guaranteed.

Whilst Dublin in itself is a lively city and an attractive destination, Ruth Delaney and Hannan Mullet as congress presidents have done an excellent job in creating the perfect environment for us to meet up.
